New Routes Connecting Madeira to North America

Azores Airlines has begun offering direct flights to and from Madeira this month. This strategic expansion is designed to enhance connections between North America, Europe, and key destinations in Portugal, providing travelers with more options and convenience.

In 2023, the operations of Azores Airlines between Madeira and the Azores have been highly successful. The decision to offer direct flights between Madeira and North America stems from the positive results of the New York to Funchal route.

Direct Flights from Toronto and Boston to Funchal

Starting June 1, Azores Airlines launched a direct flight from Toronto, Canada, to Funchal. On June 4, direct flights from Boston to Funchal also commenced. These routes are expected to streamline travel across the Atlantic, boosting tourism and business opportunities.

Strategic Expansion and Increased Operations

For the summer of 2024, Azores Airlines has increased its operations by approximately 26% compared to the same period last year. This growth includes both domestic and international flights, underscoring the airline’s dedication to meeting the increasing travel demand. As a part of the SATA group, Azores Airlines highlights that the new operations are driven by strong demand, indicating a potentially record-breaking summer travel season.
